1% for the Planet

Keeping Earth in Business

At Sustainability Consult, we believe in the power of business to build a better future. This is why in 2012 we joined 1% for the Planet, a rapidly growing global network of over 1,400 member companies in 43 countries, and pledged to donate 1% of our sales to non-profit environmental organisations.

1% for the Planet was started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder and CEO of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies. Today, the 1% for the Planet brand signifies the gold standard commitment to philanthropy and the planet.

Annually, 1% for the Planet certifies that its member companies' donations go directly to the non-profits nominated by the member. Recipient organisations must be approved by 1% for the Planet, who ensure that they are not for profit and focused on sustainability.

Currently averaging more than one new member per day, companies large and small are joining the rapidly growing 1% community, including brands like Patagonia that have consistently set the standard for responsible business practices.

1% of Sustainability Consult for the Planet

Deciding to join 1% for the Planet and help build the 1% brand in Europe was straightforward for us. Sustainability is at the core of what we do. As part of our Sustainability Policy, we wanted to move from an annual charity to a defined long-term commitment.

Giving 1% of our annual pre-tax revenue to environmental non-profits fits with our company vision to openly engage, challenge and inspire our clients and our people to move towards a more sustainable future.
