Hello 2021, when can we meet up again?

How are you? I hope you're ok and that your year is off to a good start. As good as can be expected anyway. I don't know about you but I'm thinking a lot about how we can get together safely in the coming months. How to stay connected beyond the odd newsletter and LinkedIn post. Environmentally speaking, it's good that we're not travelling as much. I had already restricted my travel to road trips and train journeys with almost no flying back in 2017. So now I'm really craving the immersion and alternate reality I get from travel. Not to mention meeting clients and friends again face-to-face.

We were sad to hear last week that a leading bioeconomy event, World Bio Markets, has gone out of business. I've spoken at that event almost every year it was running. It's hard enough to make a living doing events without a global pandemic. As a small business, it's always hard to see other small businesses go under. Here's hoping they will be back when the time is right.

So where am I going with this? I don't think I even know for sure. And that's ok. Consider this an open invitation to connect, ask questions and chat. If there's interest in organising some (video) calls, remote lunches, Clubhouse rooms, talk radio - from informal catch-up to business-focussed roundtables, webinars, video interviews... let me know. The sky's the limit.

Because I want to know how your 2020 was, what your hopes are for 2021 and how you're making a difference despite (or perhaps because) of the global pandemic.
