Two of our clients - AVA Biochem and GFBiochemicals - are shortlisted for the Sofinnova Partners Renewable Chemistry Start-up Award. The award, presented at Bio World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, recognises the most promising renewable chemistry start-ups.
The Top 5 companies will be selected by popular vote online and an industry jury will select the winner. BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology takes place 19-22 July 2015 in Montreal, Canada.
The Nominees
AVA Biochem has developed a continuous, automated highly-scalable production process for high-quality 5-HMF in crystalline form or aqueous solution. As a platform chemical, renewable 5-HMF has applications in a wide range of sectors, including chemicals, plastics, food, pharma and automotive.
GFBiochemicals specialises in the research, development and production of biobased chemicals. Using its breakthrough process technology, GFBiochemicals is the first company to produce levulinic acid at commercial scale directly from biomass.
