A Novel Second Generation Biorefinery For Europe - BIOSKOH is a flagship European research project which will transform a brownfield industrial site in eastern Slovakia into a 55 KT cellulosic ethanol production facility. Sustainability Consult is the communications partner for this innovative circular bioeconomy project.

BIOSKOH is a collaboration between eleven partners from seven EU member states who represent the full bioethanol value chain. These include land owners, feedstock producers, supply chain experts, agronomical researchers, plant constructors and operators.

Paving the way towards biorefinery scale-up to 110 KT – making it the largest in Europe, the project will also explore emerging bio-based materials such as lignin and bioethylene.

The project received funding from the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No 709557.
