Celebrating Nine Years of Sustainability Consult!

IMG 0738Sustainability Consult is nine years old today! What a journey it has been, filled with exciting developments, new projects and blossoming friendships. To celebrate, we wanted to share with you a few tips which the Team has learnt along the way.

1. A human voice can transform yet more ‘blah’ into a truly engaging story. In our experience, it’s the people on the ground which demonstrate how vital sustainability is – be it staff at a Swedish biorefinery or a plantation smallholder in Thailand

2. “Keep it short. Keep it clear. Keep it fresh,” is Zoe’s motto. Writing shorter sentences will stop you from losing your readers

3. Compelling narratives need engaging content. “No one has to read what you write,” says Noémie. If it doesn’t grab the reader’s attention from the very first line, it won’t be read!

4. Attention to detail is the cornerstone of Credible Communications and vital for building trust. “We use Credibility Audits, Key Messages and Q&As to ensure consistent communications,” says Valentina

5.Social media training can go a long way!” says Bárbara. By providing tailored, focused sessions for our clients, we boosted their Twitter and LinkedIn presence, helping them reach key policymakers, customers and companies

6. “Stay organised to help accomplish goals more efficiently,” says Maria. Earlier this year, we harnessed the organisational skills within the Team to coordinate event logistics and the moderation for an international conference in Brussels

7. To get your audience’s attention, use captivating visuals! People remember 80% of what they see and do. To illustrate the results of #WhatBrandsWant we used eye-catching images to depict the findings in our report

8. "It’s great to work for an organisation which walks the talk and to discover how a business can give back to the community,” says Janaina. Sustainability Consult is part of the 1% for the Planet network donating 1% of our sales to environmental non-profit Natuurpunt

9. It’s so rewarding to give more than money to the causes we’re passionate about. We organised The Big Swap in March to encourage the circular economy within our community. Richard has spent several summer nights helping Natuurpunt’s bat surveys in Brussels and joined the  FoodWIN Board after connecting with the non-profit through Sustainability Consult’s network
