Comet BiorefiningTargets Sustainable Bio-based Chemicals Market

Comet Biorefining, Inc. has announced the location of its commercial scale biomass derived sugar facility in the TransAlta Energy Park in Sarnia, Ontario. The 60 million pounds per year plant will come online in 2018 producing dextrose sugar from locally sourced corn stover and wheat straw. Corn stover consists of residues left in the field after harvest including stalks, leaves, husks and cobs.

Janaina Topley Lira Joins Sustainability Consult

janaina website profileSustainability Consult is pleased to welcome Janaina Topley Lira as a Consultant.  She holds a Masters degree in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and has a broad understanding of environmental issues, with specialist knowledge of climate change.

Prior to joining Sustainability Consult, Janaina delivered research, marketing and communications campaigns on the health impacts of climate change and on the market for natural refrigerant heating and cooling technologies, for both the private and voluntary sectors.  An environmental scientist turned communications professional, Janaina joined Sustainability Consult to lend her practical and professional experience to help to support the shift from a fossil fuel-based to a bio-based economy.

British/Brazilian, Janaina loves travelling to explore new places and cultures, getting outside and creative projects.
